... I died on Jan. 28, 2351, on the planet Insubri in the Pegasus Spur.



... I was reborn on Feb. 17, 2351, at the Combined Allied Hospital at Cygnus Station on the planet Manados.



When Alan Ashe died and his surviving brain was implanted into a combat cyborg, he didn't think much about it. After all, he'd worked with cyborgs for years and knew how they operated. Sure, he'd have no memories of his past life, but what could he do about it . . . he was dead!



But something wasn't right. Alan still had his memories—all of them—including those of his death. Not only that, but the way the techs were rebuilding him was . . . different.
