Bernard Cornwell is better than masterful in making history come to life. And I am super excited that this is book one of an extended series.

I actually first saw the tv show before I knew about the book. Heard the first one as an audiobook and I really loved it. The narrator was great!!

I love narrative history and historical fiction and listen to a lot , conn igledun, Giles Kristian , James Holland , but always come back to the main man Bernard Cornwell he literally wrote the book .

great story but watch the Netflix's series 1st to get an idea of the characters...the narrator was amazing and should be considered for the song of ice and fire gig
