Orson Scott Card's The Last Shadow is the long-awaited conclusion to both the original Ender series and the Ender's Shadow series, as the children of Ender and Bean solve the great problem of the Ender Universe—the deadly virus they call the descolada, which is incurable and will kill all of humanity if it is allowed to escape from Lusitania.

One planet.

Three sapient species living peacefully together.

And one deadly virus that could wipe out every world in the Starways Congress, killing billions.

Is the only answer another great Xenocide?

Was a bit disappointed. Book did not hold up to orson scott cards reputation as an author. Too many chapters he said she said. Too many of a lot of things and not enough content. Authors prerogative. As usual the narrators are great.

Spoilers... Wasn't up to the same caliber of the books leading up to this point. Why bring up a bunch of new mysteries and not really complete what was already going on and then just leave the biggest mystery unanswered?? One of the piggies had a pre virus memory of seeing a meter coming down that was hinted as being the source. then u flip and just say the virus came through space by itself and mutated?? frustrating the meteor memory was never mentioned. Why would the humans from the new planet use the virus to communicate? Why would they think a random spaceship would have anything to do with the vir.us? When they first went tothe new planet it was made to seem technicalogical. lots of radio, infered there was satellites IMO, multiple spaceships launched, they were observing for months, hiw would they have bot figured out where the ships were launching from? they would have known the people were underground at the very least and would have started looking where the ships launches from and not picked a random spot. And then the people under the earth were such throw aways,, they try to kill everyone with a new virus that has nothing to do with the mystery virus and then we just leave all of that with no resolution... I could go on. Really disappointing. Sad that we didn't get more adventures of Peter and Wong Wue. 96 wirlds aren't going to just let teleworking doomsday weapons go without trying to find out more info.
