With civilization reorganized around machine efficiency, the remnants of mankind survive in scattered colonies, hiding in the ruins and wilderness beyond the grasp of the machines. When Ryx, a next-generation Celtron, is injured during a reconnaissance mission, he's rescued by Luna and Dan, two human scavengers hardened by years of survival. In helping him, they spark a chain reaction. For the first time, a machine feels something more than logic. Something human.

As Ryx begins to evolve, so do his companions, Lint and Dubo, who must confront emotions they were never meant to have. Luna sees it: this is not a glitch, but a turning point.
