Unabridged Audiobook
Outstanding, intriguing story, written and narrated in a truly idiosyncratic and fitting way!
Very well done
I thought the story was interesting/good. It is just many parts got repetitive, the main character felt every woman he met wanted him and/or had flaws that no man would have. I almost didn’t finish it but was curious how it would all end.
Great story lots of twists and turns. Really enjoyed the narrator and the characters. Great story line.
Great historical story
Good book
A book noir with a typical 'bulletproof' PI type of guy. Narrator has a great voice.
Great read.
Classic
Very good book
Narrator was one of the better, but not the best. Story was fine.
Decent story. Choppy narration
Excellent storyline and narration.
Choppy story. Easy to listen to.
Hokey 1930s verbiage
Fun entertaining read.
This was my first exposure to Coonts. I really enjoyed the book and the narrator. The combination kept me enthralled.
Plot became cumbersome and some what redundant. Ending resolution was far fetched to say the least. Narration was good, but not great. The main character became a super soldier. His gun shot wounds never seemed to slow him down in his pursuit of the "Bad Guys". It did keep your interest while driving.
Fast paced, excellent narrator.
Predictable. So much irrelevant minutae in an effort to pad copy length? I began listening to audiobooks on cassette tape: In my experience, Mr. Barry is solidly in the top five worst narrators.
Good read as others have said. Narrator performed well with voice characters.
This was very well done and the narrator was great.
Good story line. the Narrator was very good.
good book. 5 stars
Some good twists and turns. Suspense all the way through.
Excellent read!
A lot of action and a good plot. Narration was excellent.
I thought the plot was clever and I loved the main character. The narrator did a great job of portraying the sarcasm of the main character. There was some bad language I could have done without but not a lot.
I enjoyed the novel. Some of the phrases feel like some of those old detective novels. Brought back good memories for me. The narrator was good for creating the different voices for the males but his attempt at doing the voices for the women made me laugh. The description of Dorsey made her sound like an attractive woman but his attempt at making a women’s voice made my nose krinkle. I would suggest hiring a female to do the voices.
