Summary
Modern medicine is lying to you. Discover the true science behind chronic diseases—and implement an actionable plan to restore your health and longevity once and for all.

For the first time in history, chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity plague our population on a global scale. From a seasoned physician, this paradigm-shifting book comprehensively explains the linked cause of chronic diseases and exposes the misconceptions prevalent in modern medicine.

In Lies I Taught in Medical School, Robert Lufkin, MD, explains that metabolic dysfunction is the common underlying cause of most chronic diseases that has been overlooked for decades, providing the tools needed to prevent and reverse them in ourselves. He draws on expansive, peer-reviewed evidence, proving that standard medical recommendations are killing us.

Over the course of twelve illustrated chapters, Lies I Taught in Medical School chronicles how Dr. Lufkin reversed four chronic diseases in himself and expertly supplies the strategies needed to:

Reduce chronic disease risk factors, such as inflammation and insulin resistance

Stabilize mental health via nutrition and lifestyle

Improve diet and metabolism

Treat obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and other common chronic diseases

Get off unnecessary medications, including many diabetes and hypertension drugs

What’s more, Dr. Lufkin offers practical advice to show how lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management can target the fundamental cause of chronic diseases. Lies I Taught in Medical School is a revolutionary and holistic guide that will help you take control of your health—before it’s too late.

Bonus features include a downloadable action plan for metabolic health and longevity, and a FREE membership in the Lies I Taught in Medical School online book club community.

I'm a physician involved in medical research for over 3 decades. The use of "Lies' is sensational and designed to hype his book. Physicians, indeed all scientists and health professionals, don't teach or treat due to a deliberate lie. Rather it is 'current thought' that is later proved not to be true. To use an extreme example at one time disease was taught to be due to malevolent 'vapor' or miasma. Doctors and nurses that didn't wash their hands and killed people did not do that out of malice but out of ignorance. But I'm sure "Misinformation I Taught in Medical School" isn't the dramatic hook the author wanted. True some physicians do lie to the public often when funded by evil entities like Big Sugar, Big Tobacco, and Big Pot. Moreover, new medications, new treatments, new concepts change slow in medicine for a variety of reasons. Many 'new' concepts are false or do not work as well as current treatment. Most accept 8-12 years for major concepts to fully replace previous knowledge. The pronunciation of the narrator was hilarious, he mispronounced at least a third of the medical or physiological terms used. Finally it looks like Dr Lufkin has huge conflicts of interest as all, or most, of the medications, treatments, companies, etc he recommended were on his "I'm paid to recommend this" list. I don't recommend this book

I love the information presented in this book. I am an NP and have a 25 year history of nursing. I have worked with some great doctors who also felt like something was not quite right. This book lists out some things I’ve known for years and connected the dots on others. It is a great listen for anyone. I found the narrator to sound almost mechanical . I would have preferred to read but due to life and long commutes I listened. If narration was better best book I have purchased in a long while. Great for healthcare professionals and average people who care about their health. Usable advice you can start implementing right away

A great overview for people not steeped in current health topics. This is a great read for anyone who wants to live healthier. I especially appreciated the chapter on cholesterol and statins. Great info.

I was a researcher in a large pharmaceutical company. With three graduate degrees, I finally figured it out and this book is aligned with the truth. Conventional western medicine is a profit machine, unconcerned with wellness or long term implications of synthetic drugs. gEnjoy this book.

Great book with topics easily understood. I wish we could share this type of information with our young persons, early on, so they could start life with this type of awareness.
