Why won’t you believe me? A question that has been uttered, in various forms and languages, by women around the world for generations—one that has largely gone unanswered.

There is a cavernous gap in women's knowledge about their own bodies—a gap that has been filled with profitable lies selling women unneeded or unproven products. Some are seemingly harmless, helping women feel more in control and as if we have answers when we don’t. But most worryingly, there are many lies designed simply to silence women.

This book is a passionate call out from a doctor who truly cares about taking on the challenges and minimizations women face when it comes to healthcare. Lies Women Are Told simultaneously exposes these while also providing readers with clear insight, advice, and the support they’ve been crying out for. From period cycle myths to dubious fertility guidance, from autoimmunity to gut health, Faye deconstructs each with clear science-backed arguments, and outlines exactly what we can do to recover our autonomy and take back our power.

Lies Women Are Told will empower women with the knowledge to relentlessly self-advocate in the face of clinical dismissal, never to take ‘no’ for an answer when it comes to getting the help they need, and ultimately to create a healthier, happier future for women, globally. This book is the conversation 50 per cent of the world has been waiting to have.
