Unabridged Audiobook
This book is my favourite read of 2024 so far! It healed me in ways therapy hasn't been able to do.
One of my favourites of the year. Scepticism over the power of the patriarchy or religion? This book is for you
Lots of very interesting themes
This is a beautiful, sensitive and life affirming story told by Lilith, the first wife of The Bible’s Adam. After falling out with Adam for rejecting his desire to dominate both her and the earth, she leaves Eden, spending her (immortal) days walking through life (and major biblical events) trying to return humanity to its connection to her goddess, the (also banished) wife of Yahweh, Mother of Humankind. She is a surprisingly relatable, humanly flawed, but intensely loving character in the tradition of Earth and Mother prophets worldwide. Her worldview is tender, loving and deeply connected to the earth. A very satisfying read, especially for those who enjoy lyrical prose and history as seen through alternate lenses.
I loved this book so much that I am going to listen to it again!
Loved the story, it was slow but never felt like a slog.
I am quite certain that this is more true than any supposedly holy book written by followers of the patriarchal religions. The last chapter is obviously prophesy. Excellent narration.
I didn’t finish it.
Loved it. Just what we all need to hear, especially women. Uplifting. A wonderful alternative story to the current religions.
This truly was an inspiration for me. One of the best books I’ve read/listened to. The narrator was perfect also!
Great story and perspective. I LOVED the narrator. I knock it down slightly, only because at times, the words come off sounding completely against men. I could be misinterpreting, but at least wanted to mention my reason for 4, instead of 5 stars. Otherwise, a great story--had me captivated
