Unabridged Audiobook
That was 12 hours of my life that I can't get back. The book was ok until Little Charlie was kidnapped, but after he was found, the rest was garbage. I think it was poorly written and quite boring. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but that's my opinion. The narrator did a poor job of trying to change her voice for the different characters. Her tenor was quite irritating
I really liked this book. Hearing that most of the book was true made me feel for the main character even more.
Truly enjoyed this book…excellent writing and narration. You think you know the story but…not really!
A fascinating story with wonderful characters. The narrator had an amazing amount of different accents to deal with and the men’s voices were odd, but she did well with all of the differences.
Very interesting and captivating portrayal if the Lindbergh tragedy. The character development was well done. I had a hard time with the narration the accents were a but thick though I didn't have trouble differentiating between people I had to rewind alot so I could understand what they were saying. I liked the authors sharing some of the facts vs fiction at the end. Overall a good listen
My mom wasn't even alive yet at the time of this story, so I only knew the obvious details of what (may have) happened. I read "The Aviators" in which Charles Lindbergh was a primary character (highly recommendable, by the way), but that book was non-fiction and (obviously) more about the progression of flight capabilities than the people's personal lives. I'm a fan of historic fiction, though sometimes it's hard to distinguish what's true from what's reasonable. I think Mariah Fredericks did a very good job of piecing the information together. At the end of the book, she's clear about which things she speculated. I probably would never have pursued a biographical or documentary style presentation of this happening; therefore, I have learned as well as being entertained.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little slow, but overall enjoyable.
