Very cute and genuine! 4.5 Star rating easily rounded to 5!! ⇒ Lit for Him is a short novella that pucks a punch and I loved it. I loved the air of romance the story held from the very beginning. It wasn’t a “bang” kind of story which is what often happens when an author tries to make a novella more than it should be. This truly was a developed romance. I believed it. I felt it. And it happened overnight. Literally! LOL That’s wizard magic plotting and writing right there and I am here for it! ⇒ I’ve always associated “novellas” as either sexual driven moments in time that are “explored” or secondary characters getting their ️sweet spot️ on paper but we’ve known it all along because they’ve been in the background of stories before theirs. Feel me? So before I started listening to Lit for Him, I did my due diligence stalking but came up with nothing, so I prepared for one of those stories *wink*lol but what I got was way more! This story was romantic, feel-good, kismet, sweet, sexy and it warmed my heart! There are no plot-point to give you or circumstances to explain because it honestly is a short story and any one thing you learn beforehand would render you experiencing this story useless. So go forth enjoy this heartfelt genuine holiday romance! And don’t forget to believe in the magic of the holidays! ⇒ As for the narration … !! William DeMeritt and Carly Robins made a lovely team! They were completely tuned into one another, and their performance came from the heart. They are both excellent narrators that make you feel the experience of the audio and not just merely listening. ⇒ Sidebar: I have a “thing” about the ILY moment in romance fiction, and this does not just pertain to shorter stories such as this one but to any and all stories where it’s thrown in at the very end like a “step in solving a formula”. Listen, romances have a HEA. Obviously. That’s not even close to an arguable point. However, ILYs do not always have to be spelled out. Trust your readers to understand the assignment. There is nothing that makes me twitchier than twitchy, than an “ILY scene” in a story just for the sake of doing it. It takes the feel of that circumstance and shreds it to pieces. One might even go as far as saying it could ruin a reading/listening experience. It happened with this story, and I wish it hadn’t. It was unnecessary and honestly felt forced. ⇒ Well, those are all the pennies I have. Don’t spend them all at once. I hear there’s a shortage! ‍️ ⇒
