Summary
Little Lord Fauntleroy is a sentimental children's novel by American (English-born) author Frances Hodgson Burnett, serialized in St. Nicholas Magazine in 1885. It was a runaway hit for the magazine and was separately published in 1886. The book was a commercial success for its author, and its illustrations by Reginal Birch set fashion trends. Little Lord Fauntleroy also set a precedent in copyright law in 1888 when its author won a lawsuit over the rights to theatrical adaptations of the work. (Summary from Wikipedia)

A fascinating story of a good ( almost too good!) little boy who became the heir of an Earl. He and his mother were taken to England to the castle of the Earl. Because the boy’s mother had brought him up so well, he always could bring out the best in others, including the old Earl - known for his temper and dislike of others. A story of how selflessness and kindness to others, no matter their status or station, can redeem even the most selfish. And how love and trust will most often change the one loved and show them how to love in return. The narration was good. At first surprising when the narrator changed and then changed again fairly randomly.
