delightful story, so glad I came across it. well narrated. from the story, (she believed thoughts just floated around in the air waiting for someone to find them, so she would stand quietly waiting for a thought to come along)I'm going to try that for myself.

Never had the opportunity to read this as a child, but now apparently in my second childhood, I found it very enjoyable. Children need to hear about other children who lack many of the necessities of life. It's important to engender compassion for others and gratitude for what we do have. This book successfully makes those points very clearly and very enjoyably.
