Interesting book! I learned quite a lot. The theme of the book felt Black and female cast members talking candidly about the discrimination they faced and White, male cast members talking about how great everything was. The women are "insecure" and the Black actors as "not good fits for the show". This happens so many times throughout the book, across years; it is really sad. This book is an eye-opener and has definitely changed the way I feel about show. The narrators did a remarkably good job of imitating the voices (not perfect, but very impressive!). The format of the book is a series of quotes from cast members and other staff organized by SNL "era". It is not a researched non-fiction book.

Very good read I loved it. It took a little bit to get used to the jumping around of the different people, talking and different voices for those people but once you get past that it’s very entertaining. Kind of sad though too because it really made me think very differently about people who I once thought were very friendly.

Narration is very animated. Great inside info of the studio but only until Will Farrell era, hope a part 2 comes out.

I really enjoyed the sequential interviews of those who were involved as the means of telling the story of the show’s history.

The details on the history and backstories from SNL was fascinating. I struggled some with the narrator voices jumping around (and they were not the actual cast members, hosts, writers, etc). All in all it was worth it to learn so much more about this iconic show.

The book is very interesting. You get a good idea of how the show was created and how it changed over the years. You get cast members' point of view of the show and its processes. The book doesn't leave the bad stuff. Being created as narration from everybody's point of view gives the book a feel of authenticity. As other reviewers have pointed out, it takes a bit to get used to a different character speaking about a given topic, but once you catch on, the rhythm of the book flows well. All in all, it's a very good history of the show and how it has grown. I recommend this book.

A must read if you’re a fan of the show and of comedy in general ... great inside info on the main players from the 70s up to the 2000s ...

Some really phenomenal stories. I really loved this one. Sometimes the narration was a little odd because it's numerous people telling stories for the people who worked on the show, and sometimes it was hard keeping track. But overall, definitely worth listening if you like Saturday Night Live.

Really good behind the scenes look at SNL. Great insight behind how the show has survived through so much change.
