A Loner's Tale

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

'I’ve spent my whole life pushing people away. Now, I have to lead them.'

Fourteen-year-old Kevin is a shadow in the system. Expelled for a temper he can’t control and hardened by years in an orphanage, he’s accepted his role as a permanent outsider. He doesn't want a family, and he certainly doesn't want to be a hero. He just wants to be left alone.

But everything changes when he is adopted by Zen, a mysterious man with an intensity that feels barely human.

The Shadow War Begins

Kevin is taken to a secluded island mansion, where the world of school and social workers is replaced by the world of the Slayers. He soon learns that humanity is not at the top of the food chain. For eons, a hidden war has raged against a terrifying, invisible threat—one that is ancient, predatory, and returning with a vengeance.

The Weight of the Star

To survive, Kevin must undergo grueling training under a lethal group of mentors to unlock the Power of the Star. But being a Slayer isn't just about combat; it’s about heritage. As the youngest in a new generation of warriors, Kevin must find a way to balance his volatile nature with the discipline required to wield the light.

When the lines between myth and reality blur, the boy who never wanted anyone will have to decide if he’s willing to stand for everyone.
