Unabridged Audiobook
This story deals with extremely difficult domestic issues and maybe a tough read for some people. However Kennedy Ryan’s story telling is superb and the narration is excellent. There is a happily ever after but, the road to get there is painfully honest and in my opinion very real for women who deal with difficult men. I was worth the listen.
I've listened to and read so many books since covid but this is the first time that I've actually written a review. I'm giving this 5 stars because the writing and narration was great. Kennedy Ryan is an amazing author! That being said, the storyline itself was hard. A big portion of it deals with domestic abuse and rape. I don't like to give spoilers but I'm making an exception here because this could be a huge trigger for some. I've never been a victim nor a survivor but there were parts where I wasn't sure that I would be able to continue. Only knowing that there was a definite HEA at the end kept me going. I ugly cried a lot! Sean Crisden and Jo Raylan were amazing! They really brought West & Iris to life. Honestly, I'm not sure how Jo was able to get thru narrating this one but, dang, hats off to her.
This book definitely needs **Trigger Warning** or something at the TOP of the description. I didn’t realize what I was going to hear and experience during this book. I haven’t personally been in a situation like this but the writing and story telling made me feel every hit, every look, and every emotion. Kennedy Ryan - you are an AMAZING story teller and this book is one of the most intense and best ones I’ve listened to in a LONG time!
