Murray Rule, an exclusive New York lawyer with only one client, the powerful MECU union, is murdered on steps to his upper west side town house. The police consider it a mugging gone badly. But Murray's 'facilitator' , a good friend of his from their childhood in the Bronx, doesn't buy it, so he sets out to find the person or persons responsible for Murray's murder.
