Unabridged Audiobook
I was really interested to hear a firsthand account from someone who during World War II was made to live in a Japanese American internment camp. It especially was interesting to me since I live in Seattle and I’m familiar with Vashon Island where the author lived before and after her familiesinternment.. the author really makes you understand how she felt at that time. I do wish she would have gone into more personal day by day, life and interactions, but on the whole, it was a very interesting book and made me realize how people of color must feel when they are looked at as a group and held responsible for something they had nothing to do with.
