I thought the narrator was good. Her voice was clear and she enunciated well. She also used good expression throughout the book which kept it interesting. When the material itself near the end of the book was mostly technical, it was still easy to listen to because of the narrator. She did have a few technical issues mid-way and it was a bit annoying but these things happen. I just smiled and listened on. Hey, we're human; we are not robots. All in all I would rate the narrator a four. Great job!

Very interesting. Gets a little too technical in the last chapter. I enjoyed it however The narrator throws you off a bit. She sounds happy and content all the way through even though she is experiencing a horrible situation. There is very little emotion in her voice. I didn't expect an acting job but it did require some emotion. Technical problems should have been fixed.

So the book itself my be good, but her voice is so hard to listen to. And then around the 40min mark, she messed up a word and you can hear her trying to edit it and start over. I know this book is free, but why put out a flawed product? Couldn’t even finish it, so there may be more mess ups down the line.

I found this to vastly superior to the professionally narrated 1¼ abridged version also available for free on this platform. Despite the author being a British man and the narrator being a Southern U.S. woman, she does a better job than the professional male on the abridged version. Good job, and thank you!

A very well written account of the events as seen by a survivor. It is so refreshing to hear a story told in the English language before all the decline of the language as we have today. Those early people had such a unique way of expressing themselves! The book was a great way to learn about a traumatic event that had far reaching repercussions.

The narrator was good with a clear voice and a great use of expression. However I couldn’t help but notice the mistakes in the middle of the book. I only wish it could have been edited.

An interesting telling of this sad event. I have always imagined panic ensued but according to this book, people were calm and controlled.
