The audiobook of this is out now, and it was fun to revisit this story. I particularly enjoyed seeing characters pop in when I knew what their future stories would be. The narrator did a good job with the accents and voices. I am really enjoying the town of Stone Ridge! I love the people there and how they take care of one another. The town is finally getting an elementary school, and Sadie has come back to town to be the teacher. She meets the challenge of teaching 20 kids of different ages pretty well. But the challenge of staying away from her former crush, Lincoln, is a different story. All kinds of craziness happens, and they end up as a couple. But they each have emotional hurdles to clear before we can get to the happy ending. I loved the chemistry between them as well as the history they shared from growing up knowing all the same people. There is a lot of history going on between the members of Lincoln's family and some of the other characters in the book. I am really curious about all of that will work out over future books. I liked all the secondary characters, so I want more.

She’s looking forward to the children, and being back home. As to love, she was badly burned and hurt by love during college, and is skeptical of men. Except for the one she’s loved half her life, Lincoln Carver. Lincoln is a rodeo cowboy , a rancher when in town and Sadie’s brother’s best friend. He’s also the brother of her best friend’s ex. Eva left Jackson at the altar, and Lincoln still hasn’t forgiven Sadie for helping Eva get away. He’s also a man that doesn’t believe in love. Look how his mother left her family without looking back. He feels he’s better off with the rodeo bunnies. No strings attached. But Sadie with her sweet disposition, pulls him in , even more so when he feels responsible for the fall that leaves her unconscious. As a sort of relationship starts, so do the doubts . Family secrets are exposed, and the inability to give his heart to anyone, might end up being Lincoln’s greatest regret. Will these two find happiness, or will the past and circumstances keep them apart and heartbroken? The secondary characters promise to keep us entertained for many stories to come in the future. A great start to this new series. The narrator Johanna Parker do a great job with the voices I was entrusted a copy of this audio book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
