Unabridged Audiobook
Keyes achieves the astonishing feat of a very long novel, the culmination of which is entirely evident from the beginning and with very scant story line to drive it. She does this through her wonderfully wit and observation. Very enjoyable, a few real out-loud laughs. The narrator competently navigates numerous accents. I particularly liked her Lancashire one, although I think it was intended to be Yorkshire, but no matter because she breathed real personality into each and every one of the characters.
A lot of fun with some serious side b plots. But she’s a clever and lively writer and I found myself laughing out loud often.
I love Marian Keyes light-hearted stories. This one was a bit drawn out with vulgar language that I found distasteful. Ending was predictable but happy.
Love the laid back story and accented narrator
So slow in parts with some drawn out story lines, but was happy I listened to the end.
Slow to begin with, then become a very solid example of the disease of alcoholism
would have been cute at a length of 4-5 hours but drawn out over 17 hours the characters are too much. Narrator is great and writing is entertaining but as a long book it's over the top.
I liked this one
A little predictable but a good read
Agree with the reviewer who said it was drawn out. I couldn’t even finish it it was just too superficial . I Usually like her books but this was very boring and I personally found the narrators accent very grating so I advise you listen to a sample before buying. Not recommended.
When I bought this book, I was warned about the language but that it was funny. In the end, I say indeed more than a few lines exhibited quick humor. However, I can’t say the good outweighed the bad language.,
nice easy listening book.
Another fun read. Great narration!
