This was one of the best books I have ever read. I love the characters. The narration was fantastic. The issues that are continuing to hurt our world are delivered in a humorous, touching way. I just absolutely loved this book and can not recommend it enough.

A funny book about a serious problem in the US right now

Great book! Enjoyed the story and characters.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. If you have a chance to listen to the audio book, do it! The narrator really brought the characters and story to life. I had moments where I would laugh out loud so hard tears would be in my eyes, but I also had tears of sadness. This is such a powerful story that needs to be heard. There are so many pieces that fit into what is going on right now. Thank you for writing this book!

Overall an entertaining story, but I found the “moral lessons” buried within a bit ham handed and over the top. It could have been handled more subtlety and been just as entertaining. I enjoyed the narrative, made it easy to keep track of the characters.

It was an enjoyable story with very pertinent issues, serious and comical too, loved it!

This book. Wow. Take the sugary sweet of a southern beach read and set it in the present day and turn the characters toward current events, add in every type of character you could think of (young and old) and then have them run the gamut of race and age.The first half of the book is absolutely brilliant, I was beside myself with glee. The next half isn't quite as amazing because it's a little too on the nose about a couple of things, and the purpose of the book was a smidge too glaring, but it was still fantastic. What I love the most is that it's a cornucopia of mostly accurate representations of real people with real feelings and exposes how nuanced everything is in the world. The last third seemed a bit rushed- almost like the editor thought "okay this is getting too long, time to wrap up all these characters" but that's ok.It gets dark in a couple places but with good cause. And there were several times I laughed out loud. I'm REALLY glad I read this. Easy read while touching on realistic topics in a mostly realistic way.
