Unabridged Audiobook
I was awarded this audiobook by the author in a generous giveaway, for which I am most thankful. I have read mystery books by Ms. Elizabeth Penney, and liked her writing style. The plot of this book was very clever, though complicated. My disadvantage was that I have not read the first books in this series. I felt the pace was slow, and towards the end, I was a bit anxious for the book to come to an end. I am giving 4 stars, because the book was ingenious, and there was a lot of research done to educate us readers. Unfortunately for me, Idid not feel much of a Christmas atmosphere. This has nothing to do with my rating for this book, but I found that the narrator was slow and annoying, and felt like she was reading a script rather than dramatizing it, as in most books. I would not want to listen to another book narrated by her. I am glad that I read this mystery, but would advise readers to start with the first book in the series.
