I would like to start off saying THANK YOU... I have been Looking for a audiobook that would completely rap me up and this series did just that. I ended up buying the series. Now I can't wait for the next book. The narrator did a fabulous job with all the characters. The story line kept me interested the whole time. Great job.. I can't wait for more.

Amazing book

honestly was kind of sad about this one i felt like there was potential but nothing really happened I waited the entire book for something and it was just boring the entire time.

good storyline, there were lots of twists in the storyamnd I would highly recommend to people who are interested in SciFi stories. Narrator was really good, but made a couple of mistakes. Really good book overall!

the story is amazing

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book. the story has me wanting to hear more and I shall now go and find the second book.The narrator is good, except he always slows his speech down when he reads women, but I suppose it is better than trying to raise the pitch of his voice. Generally his cadence is favourable to my ear. I listened whilst driving to and from work each day and the story and voice are a welcome change from the news.

This was a free selection for me. At that price it is worth it. If you do not mind the main character being the dumbest person in the room who constantly sticks his foot in his mouth socially then it is fine. Personally, I like the main character to be the smartest person in the room. Being ignorant is fine and expected, being an idiot is not. To many people this would not be an issue but for me it is a deal breaker to the point where I will not purchase anything else from this author sadly.Narrator is pretty good. Had to speed it up to 1.1 though.

I really very truly cannot praise this series enough. I finished all 10 audio books of this series recently and to sum up my experience in a word, WORTH!!! to offer more words, it's a grand adventure that I shan't spoil but the series as a whole delivers and each book builds so well. if this series had a tech bro resume it check all the boxes!creative storytelling? check!dynamic characters? super check!captivating plot lines? super mega ultra check!and that's just the author y'all the narrator (over 10 books, I'll repeat) is so consistent in his vocals and character voices and he develops them so well as the character arcs emerge and do their thing. the man is solid!if you like sci-fi, and a truly original take on magic systems as a whole you absolutely must make your way through the whole series.

looking forward to the next book

Couldn't put this book down and I'm excited for the next in the series which is on my wishlist

Interesting storyline

My first in this series with this author. A VERY good listen! I enjoyed the narrator and the narration. I am looking forward to the next audio in the series.

In my opinion I thought this book was fantastic, and can easily see it becoming a film series. It does have a few dry spots but that does not take away from how good the story is. The narrator did an amazing job as well with capturing all the characters.

Honestly don't know how this is free, but if you haven't listend to this yet, you should definitely change that!

A very good introductory to a great saga. In my opinion, the only downside is there is too much descriptive and repetitive detail, otherwise a very good beginning.

Felt like a fresh take on mages and their history.

Frankly, I did not finish the book. The characters had a very immature feel. The events were predictable. I thought the main character's thoughts and actions towards his mom were bratty and not personally addressed. The budding romance was emotionally stale. I was not invested at all. and honestly I'm a little tired of reading books from authors who clearly have some grudge against Christians and go on and on about it in their books. I read fantasy/sci-fi to escape reality, not listen to authors air their ideas about religious people all being bug-eyed, hateful Shaker Karens.

Fantastic series, started this one like 3 weeks ago, on book 8 now. Superb narrator as well, easy listen.

A very good book I didn’t know what to expect from this book but will start reading the series

This was a great book. When it started off I wasn’t sure. After it got going now I’m addicted. I cant wait to continue this series. A very new way to look at scifi and magic. Good stuff

Surprised to find I enjoyed this very much, and promptly went for Book 2! Narration was very good!

I normally don't like the mix of magic and Sci-fi though this book impressed me. I enjoyed it and look forward to listening to the others. I liked the narrator i wasn't bored compared to others I have listened to.

Surprisingly good read. I picked this free title up as a fill in read before my next credit is ready. I will continue to read the Starsea series. Interesting storyline with interesting characters and worlds.
