The Mane Event- Shelly Laurenston
1. Christmas Pride – Mace & Dez. This story was just ok. It started slow and remained slow for majority of the book but I did like the suspense of the back story. I felt like there was no chemistry between the two main characters. Their relationship felt kind of forced. I did love the banter between the pride and pack members. For the longest time I couldn’t remember if I had listened to this book before, I actually tried but I didn’t finish. This time, though I did finish, I was really disappointed.
2. Shaw’s Tail- Shaw & Ronnie. I don’t think this story was any better for me however it was a little funnier. I don’t like how the personality of Sissy Rae or whatever her name was totally changed with her role in this book. Whereas in Christmas Pride, she was this sweet little country bumpkin who only wanted to help and in this book she was very sneaky, conniving and couldn’t seem to make up her mind as to whether she was for or against Shaw and Ronnie. I didn’t like Ronnie at all. She was a basket case. It seemed like she was always trying to run and leave without dealing with her situations like an adult. There was also an overuse of the word “hoss” and it got annoying after a while. I couldn’t handle how many times it was used in this book. I think I’ll have to really think on whether to continue this series. As of right now, I’m not impressed by this author. Plus side though... the narrator's southern accent reminded me of anna paquin as sookie stackhouse of true blood and that literally tickled my fancy.
I loved the characters and I loved the storyline! There is humor and great sex. All of the characters have great personalities. I can’t wait to listen to the next book!!
Love the series ... the Narrator does a very good job between the characters.
OMG!! The banter between the characters makes this series worth listening to in itself!!!!! The narrator does an amazing job giving distinctive voice to each character and with the banter between them makes this an awesome series.
