Unabridged Audiobook
Anthony Horowitz has brought his A game to this third Susan Ryland book, and as usual Lesley Manville maintains her own her own very high standards and brings Susan and the pages alive. Whilst I am eager for Mr Horowitz to write more Hawthorn books I hope he now has enough affection to his character of Susan to continue the series. He continues to entertain, confuse and educate with his very intelligent writing.
Fantastic series! Definitely in my repeat reads pile!
Unique solution to the murders.
Brilliant!
The interweaving of plot lines and “story within a story” structure is pretty familiar territory to readers of some of Horowitz’s other books, especially Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders.. This book, like his others is well written, engaging and beautifully read by Leslie Manville and Tom McMullen. This one, however, featured a bit too much Susan Ryeland and not enough Atticus Pund and at least one of the plot lines tested the limits of credulity. Still, a fun read and hard to put down.
Fabulous wrap up for Susan Ryland! Loved the twisted ending and all that lead up to the big reveal. Both narrators are as good in the audio book as they are on the screen. Keep writing, Anthony! You never let us down!
