Unabridged Audiobook
This is one of the best books I’ve listened to in quite a while. It’s a very unusual story .. the setting for which is the recalling of the past by someone that is now aged, and remembering an event of his youthful life. It has many twists and turns and some very sad moments, but it held my interest from beginning to end. I had never heard of the author before and I’m unable to find any more books written by him, so I assume this was either his only book or there just simply aren’t any more available. It’s a shame. And as far as the narrator is concerned, I’ve never listened to this Librivox narrator before, but he did a really good job. He was able to alter the voices as appropriate, even to some extent the young voice, as opposed to the old voice, of the relater of the story. And in this one I did figure out who had done the deed, but not why. It ends rather abruptly, but probably the best way it could have.
A good listen
A good story with a nice twist.
Good good good
Great mystery. Well read and the villain was a surprise.
Very well read. Much better than past books. You felt as if you were really there!
