The Mastermind

This is book one in the WaterFyre Rising Although this is a standalone, I recommend reading in published order due to some history that will help with the plot. The performance by these narrators was amazing. I love when narrators can bring a book to life and these two did just that. Our story begins with Remington and Audri who grow up together. Remington is older and also Audri's brothers best friend. their relationship was always a bit different. Remington being older knew that he felt something for Audri but didn't understand it. Fast forward to years later and they are both adults. Past trauma and horrible circumstances has shaped both of them to the hardened people they are today. This is their story of how they began and how they progress. I loved this book. Anytime you have bad things that happen, it is how you respond that makes you who you are. That is how this story was written. Both Audri and Remington have to figure out how to let people in. Their relationship is tough at first but they both grow over the course of the story and I loved them together. I love the bit of mystery that was thorn into the mix and the romance was on par. This is a great relaxing book that will keep you invested in the story and want to know how it ends.
