Summary:

'The hottest YA title to hit bookstores since The Hunger Games.'--Entertainment Weekly

This New York Times bestseller is perfect for fans of 1984, Brave New World, Black Mirror, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

I wish I could start and stop read/listening to a book if I don't like it or enjoy it ,but it's not the way I work. if i start a book no matter how long it takes i will finish it. I felt like this book was like hunger games, which I did not care for, but I pushed on through it. I would say this book was ok and it wasn't awful just kind of to young for my liking. will try the next book and hope it gets better

Loved the story. Wanted to keep listening and was never bored.

This is such a great book! The narration is beautiful and the story is captivating!

  • Rachael Henry

I have to agree with Ms Hutchinson. Awesome book (actually read it in paper) but RUINED by the narrator. She made me want to smack her upside the head for making Cassia more spoiled/1 dimensional/and whiny than she was written!

  • Annika Dobrick

This book was amazing I highly recommend it, especially if you like "The Hunger Games" series.

  • Evelyn Hutchinson

The story is fair but is read in a sing song dreamy voice. There is not very much inflection.
