Unabridged Audiobook
I love the book. It's a story all Americans should know. In my opinion, Joy wrote a beautiful book, but her reading didn't show her passion for the subject. Having said that, it would be almost wrong to hear it read by anyone else.
As a white man growing up in rural and peacefull Norway I can not imagine how Medgar and Myrile fight for equal rights for black people has been. I am so greatful for how Joy Reid brings me in to their strugle. I am firever thankful fir here work bringing it out into the open. It marks a star on the sky for Black History Month. Thank you Joy!
I absolutely loved this book. I learned a lot and was bummed when it ended.
This book was absolutely amazing! I learned so much about the lives of the people who lived in that era. Joy did a magnificent job. I was screaming, crying, and sometimes cursing. Because of all the killing, injuries, an absolute disrespect of my people. I was born in the 60’’s and I grew up in MS during that era. However, I was blessed not to experience that. Thank you, so much Joy Ann Reid Medgar and Myrlie Evers was truly an inspiration
Great book, Joy did an excellent job of telling this compelling story.
Really enjoyed the story from beginning to end.
