Summary
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult comes a “sensitive exploration of the balance of love” (Publishers Weekly).
Two cousins are driven to extremes by the power of love, as one helps his terminally ill wife commit suicide at her request, and the other becomes involved in a passionate affair with his wife’s new assistant. In the midst of betrayals and trials, forced to confront the limits of their love, these cousins must ask themselves how far the borders of their hearts can extend.

I enjoyed the book and the narrator. A difficult subject

I usually love Jodi Picoult’s books, but this one just didn’t keep my interest. The characters were not likable or well-developed. The narrator sounded like she had a cold — very nasal — but she did a pretty good job of distinguishing between the characters.

Not my favorite book by Jodi Picoult but she presented an interesting dilema and as always, she gave us different views and perspectives to be considered. I liked this book.

I’ve always loved this author for her thought provoking topics and always surprises up her sleeve. This one was just a bit too melodramatic for me. The characters seemed unrealistic. The narrator didn’t help matters. It really bothered me that she sounded like a bad 1940’s movie. Overacting. It was distracting and it was tough to finish.

difficult book to follow along with in the beginning. not the best romance. I couldnt relate with chief & found that even at the end of book I hated him. I'm sure this is a semi factual look of unfaithfulness but I dont agreed with it.

I am a huge Picoult fan. However, this book didn’t do it for me. The ending was too open and the usual suspense was lacking. I wished there less open ended questions left.
