Midnight In the Milky Way

A wave of crippling migraines strikes key leaders across the globe, exposing a chilling secret buried deep within their brains: hidden implants etched with the cryptic phrase sum Inscriptus. As governments scramble to uncover the purpose of these clandestine chips and the true reach of Eg Tarsus, humanity turns to advanced cranial analytic machines—technologies capable of probing the mind’s darkest recesses and revealing loyalties, memories, and motives once thought untouchable.

In a nation fractured by suspicion and fear, Aaron and Sonya are thrust into the center of a conspiracy that twists the very notion of identity. These aren’t the old Substituents, but originals—leaders, advisors, and loved ones—quietly transformed into pawns by an unseen Empire. Their fates are now dictated by machines that read far more than thoughts.

As President Bash and National Security Advisor Joanne Friedman are drawn into the escalating conflict, IVwops Aaron and Sonya are forced to abandon Earth and confront Scriptus, the architect behind Erebos—a vast, sinister computer intelligence that commanded legions of dormant and active sleeper nodes for the Empire. This new threat rose from the ashes of its predecessor, the Fountain of Life, and its reach extends far beyond law, memory, and the boundaries of human understanding.

In a universe where truth is written in circuitry, Aaron and Sonya’s journey carries them deep into a galactic empire whose survival hinges on unraveling the devil hidden in the details. The Empire’s grip is tightening. Will they expose the truth before it’s too late—or will their destinies be sealed in code?
