Unabridged Audiobook
I like most of the books in this series. This one wasn’t as good in my opinion. The female main character has her reasons for being a hysterical ninny, but it gets really tiresome listening to her over emote. She also seems bipolar. She doesn’t want anything to do with all of the craziness happening, but seconds later she can’t bear to not help. The book could use a better proofreader. Too much repetition, too much contradiction. The descriptions of her dead best friend’s character are all over the place. I don’t know if it’s the writing or the narrator or maybe both, but Eden grates on my nerves and the male main character and Stefan’s voices seem more condescending than concerned. The story doesn’t flow well, either. It could have been a lot better with better editing. I like Dale Mayer’s books and will continue reading them. I respect the hard work and imagination it takes to write an interesting story. I wish her the best and hope I like the next one better.
