Minami, a horror writer and expert in the supernatural, is struggling to get started on her next book when an old friend, Asako, emails her out of the blue, asking for her help. Desperate for inspiration for her novel, Minami agrees to meet when she hears that Asako and a group of her coworkers have all been experiencing strange, frightening things since a nighttime visit to a supposedly haunted sawmill deep in the mountains.
