A British small-town murder mystery about a retired detective with missing memories who inherits an estate and is pulled back into a deadly investigation.

A quiet village. A brutal murder. And a man haunted by his past.

Seven months are missing from Rowan Whitecross’s life. A psychological trauma cost him his memory, his job, and his future in the police. Forced into early retirement, he retreats from London to the sleepy village of Wadhurst after inheriting his late aunt’s manor, hoping for peace and a chance to rebuild.

But when a local businessman is found murdered, Whitecross is drawn into the investigation. The victim’s past is as tangled as his own, and the deeper he digs, the more disturbing the links become—between the murder, his missing months, and the people connected to both.

As old allies grow distant and new threats close in, Whitecross must uncover the truth—about the case, about himself, and about what really happened during the time he lost.

Because someone in Wadhurst remembers.

And they’re counting on him never finding out.

Murder on Stark Street is Book One in the Rowan Whitecross Mystery Thrillers, perfect for readers who enjoy British crime fiction, troubled detectives, and small villages where long-buried secrets become deadly.
