My Butterflies

Her heart is broken.

His is off-limits.

Sometimes love is a lesson in letting go.

University senior Tessa Givens shuffles through the day to day grind of existence as if it’s an obligation rather than her chance to live her best life. While her fellow students embrace their freedom and youth, Tessa feels nothing but crushing guilt for the mistake that led to a tragedy she can’t bring herself to speak of.

Jaxon Smith, lead singer of the local band, isn’t afraid to pour his heart and soul into every performance, especially because it’s what he needs. On the outside, he’s a sexy, smart, charming rock god, but inside, and behind closed doors, he’s fighting more than one battle.

As Tess stands among the admiring crowd, mesmerized by the man on stage who unknowingly started thawing her frozen heart, she starts to see what no one else can. And when fate conspires to push Jax into Tess’s tiny, closed-off world, they discover they have more in common than their undeniable and dangerous attraction to each other.

It’d be so easy to love a man like Jax, flaws and all, but with what Tess has already been through, could she survive another fall? It'd be better, easier to keep him friend-zoned, right?
