Author and illustrator Hey Gee tells the story of a real-life Mayo Clinic patient. As an aspiring high-school track athlete takes on race after race, she must learn to manage the challenges of sickle-cell anemia. She'll need to work together with her health-care team and her family, along with techniques for self-care, to find success on and off the track.
