Unabridged Audiobook
Penny Marshall is one of the worlds most under appreciated talents in the entertainment industry if you're outside of the entertainment industry. After listening to her narrate her memoirs it is clear to me that inside the entertainment industry she is and always has been the Go-To-Gal for everyone who's ever made a name for themselves in Hollywood. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her recall the humble upbringing she had as the girl who just wanted five more minutes to play outside. I marveled at all of her professional accomplishments. But it was her humility and natural ability to remain down to earth through it all that really hooked me. Penny Marshall is a national treasure.
Ripped off on this one. It says it goes for nine hours but it's only eight and a half hours. Other than that disappointment, while I loved Ms Marshall and don't like to speak ill of the dead, she just drones through this book. It's a great story but the droning put me off a fair bit. Towards the end she finally gets slightly animated. All in all, a good book but the narration is hard to listen to and I could only do so in small doses.
