Unabridged Audiobook
It was like Butter! Barbra sharing her story in a very intimate way, like you would share your secrets with a girlfriend. I’m a lifelong fan. Despite that, I gained even more respect and admiration for her as an artist and her approach to her work; the quality, depth and breath of her art.
Excellent! One of the greatest talents ever born!
My. Name is Barbra is a fantastic read especially because the narrator was so honest and real. You will Have a new appreciation for her and her stellar career.
Streisand’s life has been extraordinary! I did not want this book to end! The addition of song tracks was a wonderful bonus. Her narration was welcoming and warm and I felt like I was part of her world for 48 hours and that she is now my friend. I loved this book!!!
long but very interesting account by Barbra of her journey
Excellent
Too long and too detailed. Alot of name dropping.
A love letter to her own legacy!! No one could have written a better biography. I didn't want it to end!
Barbra's autobiography is a very detailed story of her life and career. It is written warmly and personally, which makes it more interesting. I have loved listening to her sing for many years. Such a beautiful voice! I have also enjoyed the movies she acted in, as well as directed and produced. She is very talented. I did not know much about her personal life. Now, I do, and I admire her for her ambition and tenacity. She overcame several challenges to achieve her goals. I gave the book four stars because some of the chapters could have been a little less detailed. Also, I could have done without her political opinions. She seems to want to dismiss possibly half of her fans because they may not agree with her views, which is rather offensive. But she is certainly entitled to voice her view.
Barbra is entertaining (as expected) and quite full of herself (also expected). But if you've got it, flaunt it! She gives numerous examples of times when she argued with or cajoled her colleagues into doing it her way. When they eventually capitulated, they all agreed that her way was the best choice. Interspersed with Barbra telling her story are snippets of her singing, which is a wonderful benefit of listening to this book instead of reading it.
I couldn't wait to read this book! I've been a fan of Barbra since I was 6 years old! The year was 1968 when I saw her on the big screen in Funny Girl and Hello Dolly. I was hooked!! What a delight it was to hear Barbra narrate her autobiography! I especially loved that she included actual recordings from her Broadway Debut in Funny Girl and many other recording from her albums and movies. I love how honest she is about her personality and self worth. I love Barbra's comments about food, politics and her drive to be her best in everything she does in life. She's a one of a kind talent! (4 stars due to the length, could have been edited a bit.)

A very long listen, but definitely worth it. Listening to Barbara Streisand narrate her autobiography is an incredible experience for any Streisand fan. She is one of the most talented multidimensional artist in entertainment history.
