An old classical British short story with the characteristic expression for this time period. I enjoyed the title, because it's written in a beautiful language and makes you think. However, for me it was still hard to overlook the then normalized things like ¡ncest (marrying your first cousin in this case or equating the feelings for a lover to a sibling) or the very inappropriate age gaps between the characters. I know I'm only saying this, because of the differences in our society in the 19th century versus now, and I was trying very diligently to ignore it and instead try to understand the meaning behind the author's words, but it was still next to impossible for me and my morals.Also, I as a non-native English speaker got confused with the bloodline and time pacing on a couple occasions, because of the complex expression of the writer, but I realize this is probably on me.I am not saying I wouldn't recommend the book, it's just probably not necessarily for my liking and I wanted to give an honest opinion.About the narrator - this is the second book of their I'm reading and I chose it exactly because of how much I loved their voice in "The Secret Garden", so I'm definitely very pleased with them and thankful for their charity work!
