Unabridged Audiobook
A wonderful recording of an excellent Scottish murder mystery. The characters are well drawn and the tale moves along at pace. There are a number of surprises for the reader and I liked in particular the conflicts and cajoling of an investigative journalist with the grumpy single-minded detective. The narrator brings the story and the characters to life and the voice is used to good effect to add emotions to the reading. All in all, a thoroughly good way to enjoy a book - no page turning, no need to remember where I left off the previous evening as the recording always takes up the tale from where I left it. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
This was my first audio read and was very impressed with the narrator. She used different voices for the characters and read at a good pace. The story itself is great. An easy going murder mystery keeping you in the edge of your seat! A delight to listen to and am looking forward to future audios from Traude Ailinger's book series.
