आज़ाद हिन्द फ़ौज के संस्थापक और भारत के सबसे चहेते स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस का निधन ताइहोकू (ताइवान) में एक विमान दुर्घटना में जलने के कारण हो गया था. इस दुर्घटना की ख़बर से पूरे भारत में हड़कम्प मच गया था. बोस के परिवार और उनके चाहने वालों ने मानने से इंकार कर दिया कि नेताजी की मौत हुई है. आज कई दशक बीत जाने के बाद भी नेताजी की मौत की गुत्थी पूरी तरह से सुलझ नहीं सकी है. कभी नेताजी को बाबा शौलमारी के रूप में देखा जाता है तो कभी ये अफ़वाह ज़ोर पकड़ती है कि गुमनामी बाबा दरअसल नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस ही थे. तो क्या जो प्लेन क्रैश में जो मरे वो नेताजी नहीं थे? क्या नेताजी जिंदा थे? क्या था उनके मौत का सच?

Founder of Azad Hind Fauj and one of the most popular Indian nationalist leader, Subhash Chandra Bose died on August 18, 1945, from third-degree burns inflicted when the Japanese aircraft in which he was being transported crashed in Taihoku (now Taipei), Taiwan. Many of his admirers refused to believe the reality or circumstances of his death at the time, and have continued to do so. Many rumors arose within hours after his death and have continued since, preserving different martial myths about Bose.
