Dark Academy tells the tale of how the death of a celebrated Elizabethan playwright causes a teenager from a tower block in West London to become prime suspect in a murder investigation.


15-year-old, Jack Odell, is persuaded to go to The Isle of Magus, where he is to attend the esteemed School of Night and learn all about his true identity as a Nightscholar and his past lives. However, when a failed attempt to steal a life-enhancing shew-stone results in the academy’s janitor being found unconscious, all fingers of suspicion are misguidedly pointed in Jack’s direction. What is really going on in this idyllic environment is a mystery that he must, at all costs, solve if he is to avoid ten years’ incarceration in the dungeons of the Venetian Palace – and if The Isle of Magus is to be saved from outright tyranny.
