'The Night Wire' is one of just three stories authored by Henry Ferris Arnold (1902-1963). It is almost certainly based on its author's own experience, either as an operator or someone working closely with operators in the news business. It was one of the most popular to appear in the pages of Weird Tales magazine between 1924 and 1938 and was voted second-most popular in the issue in which it appeared (September 1926) and was in the top 50 in popularity of all stories published during that period. Narrator Edward E. French is an Academy Award nominated Hollywood Special Make-up Effects Artist with a string of credits at IMDB.COM. His email address is: edwardfrench06@hotmail.com.
