Summary
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The unforgettable memoir by the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the woman who dared to take on Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell

“Make no mistake: this is a book about power, corruption, industrial-scale sex abuse and the way in which institutions sided with the perpetrator over his victims. . . . But it is also a book about how a young woman becomes a hero. . . . Important [and] courageous.” —The Guardian

The world knows Virginia Roberts Giuffre as Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s most outspoken victim: the woman whose decision to speak out helped send both serial abusers to prison, whose photograph with Prince Andrew catalyzed his fall from grace. But her story has never been told in full, in her own words—until now.

In April 2025, Giuffre took her own life. She left behind a memoir written in the years preceding her death and stated unequivocally that she wanted it published. Nobody’s Girl is the riveting and powerful story of an ordinary girl who would grow up to confront extraordinary adversity.

Here, Giuffre offers an unsparing and definitive account of her time with Epstein and Maxwell, who trafficked her and others to numerous prominent men. She also details the molestation she suffered as a child, as well as her daring escape from Epstein and Maxwell’s grasp at nineteen. Giuffre remade her life from scratch and summoned the courage to not only hold her abusers to account but also advocate for other victims. The pages of Nobody’s Girl preserve her voice—and her legacy—forever.

Nobody’s Girl is an astonishing affirmation of Giuffre’s unshakable will—first, to claw her way out of victimhood, and then to shine light on wrongdoing and fight for a safer, fairer world. Equal parts intimate and fierce, it is a remarkable narrative of fortitude in the face of depravity and despair.

Emotional read. Virginia gets raw with her truth. So happy she was brave enough to tell her story. My heart breaks for her family

Hard to listen to this knowing the outcome.

This was a haunting story - even more so because it's true. She was so brave to come forth, when there was so much danger in doing so. I have to comment on Therese Plummer, the audiobook narrator. She was the perfect choice to tell Virginia's story. Therese actually made me forget I was listening to a narrator. She inhabited the emotional life of Virginia so completely - no small feat. Therese is a star among audiobook narrators!

This is a difficult read that sheds light on horrendous behavior. It takes a lot of courage to stand up against those who have are...'the dangerous ones'.

Thank you Jenna tears.

Most disturbing story I have ever listened to on this app. It was worth it, however, as I now have an understanding how a few elites can lose their morality and pick on some of our vulnerable youth. My heart aches for Virginia.

There is no greater evil than committing crimes and abuse against children. Would that ALL not just SOME of the prominent men that abused this minor girls become public. Men like "Prince" Andrew, the disgraced brother of Charles. This book is informative both as to the specifics of Jeff Epstein case and the generalities of the child trafficking trade. It is profoundly sad and disturbing. No reason not to read it thought

Difficult but necessary. We still have a long way to go.

Profile Avatar Chiri Kuka May 2026

One of the most gut-wrenching memoirs I’ve read. I hope that someday she (and the other victims) get the justice that they deserve.

Courageous.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2026

Interesting, yet sad & emotional. It took a lot of bravery to write this. Rest easy Virginia

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2026

Great book, I just wish she could have seen the success of it.

Incredibly vulnerable, brave, and full of courage. Virginia teaches us so much about the inner and outer world that we inhabit through her open-book sharing of her gut-wrenching life story. As a SA survivor and woman in general, I am so grateful for her work and dedication to educating so many and holding responsible parties to account, and for not propping up their sick and horrendous abuses. The Truth is a gift, and so is this book. I hope she is at peace, and sending her so much love.

Profile Avatar Céline L. Mar 2026

Difficult and emotional story about how a young girl’s experiences with evil and dehumanization while navigating how to cope with the trauma of childhood sex abuse. I think this is necessary reading for anyone who thinks it couldn’t happen to them or someone they love.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2026

Was it difficult read very emotional?

Profile Avatar Angie B. Feb 2026

Powerful.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2026

Not the easiest book to listen to but she breaks it up every now and then with happier recounts of her children. The biggest takeaway from her story is love your kids! It all started with her parents.

Profile Avatar meliko627 Jan 2026

Heartbreaking, really eye opening rendition of an all too common story many close their eyes to.

Profile Avatar Priscilla V. Jan 2026

Disturbing, moving, tragic.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2026

Heart wrenching. Very well written.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2026

My hear breaks for her and her children. Sadly the book doesn’t cover her family life a bit more. Especially the last couple years of her life.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Dec 2025

It was hard to listen to some details, but an eye-opening and heartbreaking account of abuse at the hands of primarily wealthy, entitled individuals.

Profile Avatar Rena R. Dec 2025

This book is a must-read/listen! I commend Virginia for having the courage to write this book. She will always be a hero; they can never extinguish her light- she will always shine. Listening to this book, I smiled, I cried, I screamed, I felt every emotion through her words. May she have eternal peace, may her family be safe and protected, and may they always know the depths of her love and courage. She was taken too soon, but her spirit lives on.
