Incredible story and realistic.

This is always on the military book list for young officers. I haven't read it since I was a lieutenant (25 years ago). It hits completely different! If you read this years ago, it's worth a new look.

Loved this book. The human element intertwined with military life, leadership and code is a lesson many could use to better their own self.

Thought this was a true story, something like Band of Brothers or With the Old Breed. Was hard for me to get through the first 4 chapters with all of the unnecessary draw out conversations. The conversation with one of his soldiers when they are getting their buts kicked doesn’t sound like something a soldier would say. Run? Yes we have to run, guy sounds like he is talking to him young son. Lots of not funny sarcasm. 41/ hours is to long for such a book but I may try reading the book and see if it gets any better because it was irritating try to listen to it.
