It is said that you only want what you cannot have. I hate to be a cliche, but that statement rings true for me.



In my case it's not what I want, but rather who. Tara Brooks. Sweet, funny, and my little sister's best friend. I've got a list of reasons why I'm no good for her, starting with the fact that I'm a decade older. She's just starting out and I’m about to retire.



Still, I'm used to getting what I want. And I've never been very good at following the rules.



So it seemed harmless when she asked me to be her fake date to her sister and ex-boyfriend's wedding. There was no way I was letting her endure that on her own.
