The Other Side of Childhood: My Truth

This is poetry that expresses children's emotions, anxiety and mental trauma. The inner voice speaks and replies, seeking answers, often finding no response.

When you read these poems, I want you to know the children who wrote these poems were of different races, cultures, identities and between the ages of 11-13 years old. What started out as a class assignment, turned into a journey I will never forget.

This poetry book is for the children who ever wondered why and to know that they are not alone, the adult who needs to heal that inner child inside of them or the educator or parent who wants to understand today's child.
