Best book I’ve listened to in a long time. Could easily be a true story. I will definitely look for this author again.

Good read

This was such a great book and the narrator made it even better! It was thrilling and interesting while educational on our judicial system. I can’t say enough about how well the narrator did with the southern Alabama accent spot on! Highly recommend!

It’s doubtful that the writer has even been to Alabama much less actually interacted with someone from the South. The negative stereotypes are astounding and unbelievable.

If you believe christians are ignorant biased jerks and southerners are morons this is the book for you . I figured the story line pretty quickly but the misuse of scripture was and I’m from the South.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love books set in the South and a good Southern lawyer. The narrator was excellent and held my interest with his smooth, Southern voice. It felt like home. The book was timely and showcased how backwards Southern states, and small town, can be when it comes to women. While this book tackled a serious matter, it was also heartwarming and funny, at moments. Wasn’t heavy, at all. Great listen.

Good book based on things still continuing to happen in this time period (aka 2026). I found it to be a little dramatic but again, these abortion laws are extremely dramatic themselves based solely off of people’s personal religious beliefs.

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator was fantastic at bringing it to life. So good when you greatly enjoy an audio read.

Forced myself to finish this, just to see the outcome. Being an intelligent, devout follower of Jesus, from Alabama, I felt this story is very demeaning. Author definitely hit all the stereotypes that ignorant progressives have of the South. The southern “accent” of the narrator is ridiculous. And the story ending seems very rushed and anti-climactic. Will not read another book by this author!

better than I expected the story line was awesome will keep you engaged and on your seat. you'll second guess yourdelf on every outcome. it's thrilling suspense action murder mystery comedy. loved this book !!!

This was a good one--kept you guessing. The ways the main character was flawed made him seem more real. What he gets away with is maybe a little unrealistic, but I was willing to suspend disbelief to stay in the story.

Love courtroom stories! The characters all from one small town and all with a history was entertaining providing intrigue as old wounds were bloodied. Narration was good!

Concerning historical view, it’s a great book. I wasn’t crazy about the main character because he was just a little too unbelievable for me but at the same time the twist and turns of all the characters made it interesting.

Excellent read bit if a twist at the end. The Long winded bible references were hard to deal with but related to the whole case n are huge in the USA so had to be there. Narration was Excellent

At first, I wasn't sure what I thought of the main character, who has flaws introduced early on. I considered not finishing the book. I am glad I decided to continue, as the story and characters are engaging, and the narrator brings it to life. The characters' flaws help make them real and add depth to the story.

Should be made into a film. Excellent.
