My husband closed the door and waved on his way into the airport terminal. Fifteen minutes later I was back at the Cellar Door accommodation. I decided to soak in the hot tub and spent a good hour luxuriating and shaving my legs, preparing myself for Mr Harrison. I was to meet him and Mr Ulrich at six down in the ancient wine cellar. I had no idea what Mr Ulrich had meant by wanting to practice his painting with me. I couldn’t find Gail around earlier to ask her for details so I gave up. I decided I’d just enjoy the excitement of not knowing.

I had an early dinner, a help-yourself buffet this evening. Mrs Ulrich was nowhere to be seen all day. At six o’clock on the dot I walked tentatively down the mossy sandstone staircase wearing a short t-shirt dress and nothing else – my instructions from the dirty old men.

“Ah yes, perfect,” Mr Harrison greeted me at the Cellar Door. He took my hand and led me into the cave-like dungeon. He had the place lit up with a hundred candles.
