It’s a romance with street murders, assassination plots, religious factions engaged in political turf wars, and a hilarious amount of awkward interactions. The perfumer Grace, with her shady past, and Steven, a paladin whose god died and left him and his brothers in arms unable to keep their berserker fits in check, attempt to navigate a deadly plot that will put them through the ringer. Did I mention this is also a romance? The narrator did a wonderful job portraying the characters and making them come alive.

I think my expectations were too high. but overall not bad.

Solid story and novel. Good book but not the author's best. A little strange when male narrator tries to do the female voices but good overall

loved the world and romance. unfortunately I really did not like the narrator's "voice" that he made up for the female main character.
